Comments Thread For: Teofimo Lopez: Three or Four Ways To Beat Lomachenko!

Teofimo Lopez has never been one to bite his tongue. That aspect of his game isn't going away anytime soon, in fact even less of a chance of slowing down as he advances from prospect to contender. Everyone with a belt in the 130- and 135-pound divisions were the latest targets of his unfiltered thoughts, as Lopze is intent on becoming a world champion in 2019. Reigning unified lightweight titlist and pound-for-pound entrant Vasiliy Lomachenko has been the most often mentioned, but is just another name to the 21-year old Brooklyn-bred boxer.

With a gun, a baseball bat, a gang or poison. But NOT with certainly not with your gloves, mister Lopez.

Agreed Part of me thinks Lopez won't touch Loma. Yet the size bothers me, Loma not that big. Can Lopez stay focused till later rounds? Lopez got that energy! Hiting air not gonna do it or is he that good? I'm going with Loma if this fight gets made. He's outstanding Boxer extraordinaire but that size. Let's see what Bob is thinking?

He’s not wrong...loma does the same 3-4 movements which aren’t very complex and all fighters know how to do. It’s just he does them in different combinations and faster than most which makes timing very hard. He also sets guys up multiple times with the same move before he throws anything hard off it.

I hope maybe by the end of the year/early next he's offered (and accepts) the fight. It will serve him well moving forward IMO. I think his feet and head movement aren't good enough and he'd get a schooling but it could be a fairly high profile fight and learning lesson for him.

He has the size and power to make Loma second guess some of his offensive attacks. If he can time them or get off first (a real possibility) then he can win. Timing is everything against Loma, even if you have size and speed.
