because Monzon has great wins.
and because calling GGG an ATG for haivng 4 title defences means you have to open the doors to 1000 other boxers.
Can you really watch that video and act as though Monzon could even compete with GGG? I mean come on dude...open your eyes....
GGG clearly beat Canelo, twice really. And anyone neutral would give him at least 1 of those wins. Plus Jacobs and Lemieux. Murray was a much better win than Geale lol. Geale wasn't completely shot at that point but he was after GGG faced him. Watch Geale in the GGG fight and then vs Cotto. Completely different fighter.
GGG has 17 good to great wins. All clean wins, 14 KOs. Never really lost. All different styles of fighers...big, small, fast, big punchers...as opposed to someone like Hagler who struggled every time you put someone who could box move and take a punch.
Who is your top 5 all time at MW?

But as far as Monzon, he was 70’s. Even Hagler in his prime was before ‘83. The way boxers gain back the water weight today imo wouldn’t be of interest nor normal to Hagler from 84-85. He had nothing to prove, nor would he cut weight like a Crawford at 28 years of age walking around 160lbs but prepping camp for 135.
Different times.

You said in a different post that MWs today are much bigger due to rehydration. GGG is not really a big MW, (I doubt he has ever been much over 170 on fight night) so if he indeed is beating bigger guys historically that is actually another feather in his cap, so thank you for pointing that out.

Nigel Benn definitely beats Triple L.
Canelo definitely beat Triple L in the rematch and he put a hurting on that boy.
That's why Triple L still ain't even talking or thinking about fighting. Dude is STILL Recovering
Meanwhile Ca$hnelo is fighting the #1 contender at MW after winning a title at SMW
