Sure, I guess. I don't think much of Charlo but he has a lot of hype so why not? It's not really an interesting fight for me though so it's a case of if Canelo, Jacobs, Andrade, Saunders aren't available then it's ok. I think Dereyvchenko is a much better fighter than Charlo too.

Regarding him becoming an all-time great? Nah. He's already past his best but the fact he had close fights with Canelo who's really not close to a great fighter (and wouldn't be elite in other era's) in his biggest fights and lack of depth in his resume plus fairly one dimensional style point to a guy who'll be remembered as a very good fighter but not great IMO. Imagine GGG/Canelo/Jacobs with Hagler, Monzon, Hopkins, Tiger or even career welterweights like Rodriguez, Griffith, Hearns? They'd not come close to beating these guys.

Lol you're crazy. GGG has about 12-14 good to really good wins and 3-5 great wins. Against guys in their prime and all styles. Hagler got embarrassed by a small old Leonard, went life and death with an old fat small slow Duran. And lost once to Willie Monroe lol.

Calling GGG one dimensional just shows you DKSAB. Hagler was tough as hell and if you tried to brawl with him you would lose. As Hearns and Mugabe would attest. But if you could box and move and take a punch you could trouble him. As Duran Leonard and Willie Monroe (twice, lol) would attest.

Canelo wouldn't beat Monroe at least on fair scorecards. Canelo really lost to Lara too. There's no way a Monzon or Hagler in their championship days loses to or needs a gift vs. Lara. That's not Hagler's prime either.

Nutthuggers are funny. Canelo is not in Monzon's league. I know Griffith and Benvenuti weren't prime but Canelo wouldn't beat (legitimately) the versions that Monzon faced and I think the same goes for the smaller Napoles. Let's not act like GGG is prime or great or that those fights were even fair decisions. Canelo being shorter, with average stamina and Monzon having a rock iron chin, great IQ, great stamina points to an easy night for Monzon.

He destroyed Jrock but Trout and Koborov gave him problems. He doesn't seem to be able to set himself properly for the southpaw/orthodox angles and therefore is unable to react quick enough and generate enough power. He's always punching from too far out and falling over his punches and he gets caught too easy as a result with counters and clinches.

I haven't seen this problem when he faces orthodox stance fighters though.

What above average orthodox fighter has he faced man? Please don't say J Rock lol. No one knows J Rock's level yet and he stepped up and got sparked when he did step up.

I think Billy Joe, Andrade and Jacobs would all beat Charlo. But GGG's face is sitting right there waiting to be hit. Can't move, bad reflexes, slow hands, questionable defense and a sucker for the uppercut. Mismatch waiting to happen.
