The way I see it is the man makes the belt. I don’t count it as a true world championship but both klitchko and ggg have been long reigning ibo champions in recent years. In those cases I say it means something. When Eubank jnr beat reynaldo quinlan for the title or whatever his name was it meant nothing.

Computerized rankings are only as fair as the person who
programed the software. The IBO loves to boast about their
computer, but I think it might be infected with ******* since
it decided that Eubank and DeGale are the two fighters most
worthy of competing for the IBO super middleweight title.

Honestly it’s not that bad. Anthony dirrel is fighting avini yildrim for the vacant wbc belt. I’d argue this is a much higher quality fight for a vacant belt.

But you cant really argue that DeGale and Eubank are the
two best 168-pounders today.
If the IBO wants to give their vacant title to two boxers
who are arguably not even top-5 in the division
then they are obviously as unscrupulous as every other
alphabet organization.

But I do applaud your positive outlook.
Its better to see things half-full instead of half-empty.
I need to work on that.

The ibo isn’t an organisation I hold in the highest regard. Like I said in my previous post I have a much bigger problem with the wbc sanctioning dirrel vs yildrim fight.

I would say both dirrel and Eubank are top ten, that’s not a terrible vacant title fight imo. I have to admit I’m quite looking forward to this one

A fight between two top-10 ranked fighters and a belt is on the line. What's the problem? Some of the fights the other 4 bodies put together for a vacant title are shocking. At least this fight should be fun.
