Lightweights and welterweights fight exactly the same way except welterweights hit harder on average and take a punch better. Either Mikey can beat Spence or he can't. What everybody now calls two weight classes used to be called one weight class. In the past many fighters have been the welterweight champion and beat the middleweight champion for a jump of 13 pounds. Middleweight champions like **** Tiger jumped up 15 pounds to beat the light heavyweight champion Jose Torres. Lightweight to welterweight is a jump of 12 pounds and Mikey has fought twice at 140. Spence is a better fighter who hits much harder, takes a punch better and throws more punches a round than Mikey in my opinion. Mikey is a good brave fighter.
This will be no slaughter. A slaughter is like Davis- Ruiz or Garcia - Salka .

Greed for money. Notice they wont disclose the financials. Also has a built in excuse for the loss. Someone would have to be a fool to not think he isn't aware of this.

As others have stated, Mikey should have taken at least one tune up fight to get better accustomed to 147.

Garcia did win a belt at 140 so there's that at least but again, he looked flabby and not as strong as he did at 135.

If Mikey was a legit welterweight, I'd pick him over Spence in a heartbeat, as I view Mikey as the superior fighter.

Its the weight that is the problem, dont know how Mikey's body will react at welterweight.

The 140 division existed in Duran’s day. Check out Aaron Pryor.

Plus the Duran comparison doesn’t work. He fought Palomino (an excellent fighter) at WW before taking on Leonard.

I dont know how i overlooked Pryor, just my age i guess. Well the comparison isn't perfect, but the jump to fight both is comparable. Garcia isnt Duran, but Spence is nowhere near Leonard, or even Palomino tbh.

Not a fan of either one, but why do you people keep saying
Garcia is moving up 2 weight classes?
His last fight was at 140 vs Easter.
                      What am I missing?
