Comments Thread For: Gervonta Davis Eyes Hometown Fight In Baltimore In July

CARSON, California Gervonta Davis' fight Saturday night was so short, his handlers are contemplating bring him back as soon as some point in April. Floyd Mayweather, Davis' promoter, surprisingly suggested after Davis' first-round stoppage of Hugo Ruiz that Davis could travel to Japan to face kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa in a boxing exhibition when he fights next. That would be a lucrative yet peculiar move for Davis because Mayweather knocked down Nasukawa three times and stopped the 20-year-old star kickboxer in the first round of their boxing exhibition December 31 in Saitama, Japan.

It would be great for the city of Baltimore to host a hometown fighter. Im sure there is a pool of untapped talent in that city. The influence from someone who came up from the same streets could help peak interest in the sport. Who knows? Maybe America could get a great HW from that region.

i Dont think fighting in Baltimore would be a good idea for tank or anyone involved right now lol.

I think tank should fight there in 2 years when they finish all the construction.

Baltimore is a ****** representing the coward culture in inner cities tiday in America. Do the least amount of work and talk a big game, then blame everyone else if something doesn’t go your way.

Davis & Mayweather epitomizing this culture . Absolutely a disgrace to the eras previous of great African American fighters that actually were brave and fought like men, not pretended to be thugs.

I thought Tank was planning on fighting 4 times this year. Hopefully he fights before July. He only had 1 really easy round thus far. Why the long time span til his next fight? Would like to see more of his fights.
