Your argument for Morales, "If he wanted to quit, he would've stayed down the first time, and that we can't blame Erika since the ref waved the fight off before the count of 10"
Answer: 20 million things could've been going through Erika's mind in between the 1st and 2nd knockdown. Obviously Morales chose to fight on after the 1st kd and chose to quit on the 2nd kd.
This shouldn't even be an argument, 'cause Erika's response to an interview done recently, even if he didn't directly say he quit. His response for losing the fight was because he was FATIGUED. So that means when you are conscious, down on 1 ****in' knee , and staring right at the ref, all this translates to "he still could've gotten up"!
Here's an analogy for your girl Erika indirectly saying he quit..
Barry Bonds testified to the Grand Jury, that "he didn't know that the stuff he was taking from his trainer was "the clear".
So Bonds was taking the steroids, but he didn't know it was steroids. So Barry's argument is, hey I didn't take it if I didn't know it was steroids.
There's a difference between getting knocked out like Terry Norris against Julian Jackson, Mike Tyson against Lennox Lewis, Tua against Dokiwari, Hearns against Duran. etc... ARE YOU STARTING TO GET THE PICTURE ?
Morales was up on 1 knee CONSCIOUS meaning Morales was f**cking awake during the knockdown. Even Steward said that the knockdown was more the 'cause of being fatigued, than a flatout k.o. punch! And no one had a better view of it than Steward and crew.
You say, that "You don't think Erika is past his prime, but
consider him being shot"
Dude, a fighter that is shot or being past their prime, is THE SAME DIFFERENCE!
Morales lost to the top dawgs of the division, does not mean he's shot.
Now if he starts to lose to fringe contenders and flatout tomato cans, then you have a strong case for your argument!
