Not at all. Some boxing fans might not want to hear this, but Floyd was so popular because he transcended boxing.
Floyd did Dancing with the Stars, WWE, got arrested and went to jail, made racist remarks which were highly publicized, and had unique controversial events in his fights (Judah, Ortiz, interview with Merchant, etc.), and Floyd literally made the 24/7 show. All of those things made Floyd a star being than the sport itself..which is why Floyd became a household name.
While it's annoying AF that's what Floyd is trying to do with Gervonta. I don't think Gervonta has the personality to be Floyd or something close, but Floyd is the highest grossest athlete (not just boxer) of all time...so I can understand why other athletes/boxers would model their career after FloydComment

I always liked Floyd as a boxer himself but as a promoter I ****ing despise him right now. He is actively promoting ducking and scam fights + mismatchesComment

Quick easy money for his fighter. Exposure to whole new audience. That's a boss move that's why Conner wants to do it. Tank still scheduled to make 2 other boxing appearances this year.Comment

yes, because if someone offered you 9 million dollars to fight someone you didnt even need to prepare for, that you could just show up and wipe out. you would decline.. lol
if he was passing it off as a real fight i would agree. but they made it an exhibition! the people in japan wanted to see floyd fight their young hero, their young hero wanted a shot at floyd, floyd wanted an easy payday.
you being mad because it didnt work out the way you wanted doesnt make anybody a joke but you.
and im not even a fan of the vast majority of floyds decisions, as a fighter absolutely. but business wise, hell no. but only a moron blinded by hatred would knock the man for the tenshin show. and i say show because it literally wasn't a real fight. why would floyd not be allowed to put on an exhibition and make a **** load of money?
well, we all know. because you don't want him to make money or succeed in any way. every time he walks into the ring and walks back out a winner you are mad and looking for an excuse to direct it at floyd. pretend he did something wrong. plenty of times he did, not this time.Comment

Well he said Tank would fight Tenshin in an exhibition in April and then fight the "real" boxing match in May. I don't see a problem with that.Comment

Floyd is retired and fought an exhibition fight. Obviously you must not know much boxing history and might be stuck in your feelings. Because if you weren't ignorant about boxing history you would know that Oscar De La Hoya, Shane Mosley, Mike Tyson, and Muhammad Ali all took exhibition fights for money.
I know you're bitter about him retiring undefeated but just let it go.Comment

I’ll believe it when I see it. It’s possible Floyd is just using dudes name to get Tank some Japanese exposure. If the plan was to really bring Tank over there then it made no sense for Floyd to beat him up first. At least that’s what I’m hoping.Comment

Despite ALL of the success Floyd's had. He's still holding people back. He wants people to do good but not better than him. De La Hoya would of made Tank a multimillionaire by now.Comment
