No he wasn't. He only did good against American fighters, they wanted him to lose. He wiped out all the US HW and then the American fan cried and said they weren't interested in boxing anymore. What they really meant is they are only interested when one of their fighters is on top. They haven't had that for almost 2 decades in the HW division.

Anthony Johnson is already a huge star here in the States.

              Wilder v Fury 2 = 'A' class fight
Joshua v Miller = -'C' class fight.....no matter about the fans being mugged in to Joshua getting a career high pay day for this dismal task.Fury won't be bothered he gives his away. Fury will come out of this better .Joshua has turned business man which is plain to see which most fans understand but don't like and in the ring Tyson is by far the superior boxer.
Joshua may even struggle with this massive underdog at 1/8 .I don't think they'll be calling the odds then! Tyson loses against Wilder ...he wins.

Frankly, a fight like this should have happened after the Wlad fight, so figure AJ is a year and a half late.

But, it is a good first step.

A fight in the sport's biggest market versus a fighter who is a very credible threat, perhaps the most viable in the division outside of Wilder, Fury, and Ortiz.

I know I bash AJ often (and I probably still will) but this fight makes sense in lieu of the Wilder/Fury rematch and can act as the the other "semi-final" in counterpoint to the rematch, setting up the big one between the two winners in the fall of 2019.

And make no mistake, the chance exists that the final could be a Miller vs Fury fight, although I am certain we will get the one we have wanted for 2 years now.

This goes to show how little Eddie Hearn knows about how boxing works in the US. I bet Eddie though has convinced himself that DAZN and their 20000 odd subscribers will make a difference.

Lewis had to fight in the US often and he also had that chip on his shoulder of wanting to fight all the monsters. That is how Lewis won over American fans. Joshua and Eddie with their dorky spoiled approach isn't going to get it done.
