It definitely does. I understand that it's a business and boxers put their health and sometimes even their life on the line everytime they step in the ring so they deserve to make a decent living, but all the politics with different promoters, platforms, and sanctioning bodies really does ruin it for the fans. Not too mention all the corruption with poor judging and reffing. Just look at the Dave tiberi James toney fight. They straight robbed that guy and he was so heartbroken he quit boxing. So not only do the fans lose out on getting to see the best fight the best but the boxers lose out cause they train their *sses off just to get robbed. That's gotta be really discouraging for them never knowing if they're gonna get a fair shake or not. We really need an organization that oversees everything to force the good fights and b able to challenge and reverse bad decisions.

This is the same WBA that let Lara hold his belt for 2 years defending it against Foreman level opponents.
Then when Andrade became available for Lara, they ignored him,
and let Lara defend it against a nobody like Gausha, instead.
When Hurd beat Lara, WBA was demanding a rematch,
even though there was zero outrage on the outcome of the fight.
It almost seemed like they're in collusion with shady Decubas.

Yeah but Lara also got absolutely robbed by Paul Williams and lost that decision to canelo which I won't call a robbery but could easily of went his way too.

What about Golden Boy promotions? Fighter's under Eddie Hearn? Frank Warren?
Fighter's who are signed to all the small time promoters like Zanfer promotions in Mexico, Teiken promotions in Japan, Thompson Boxing, Warriors Boxing, and countless others?? How you gonna shut them out??
How you gonna shut out Canelo and Anthony Joshua? They are the two biggest Stars in boxing!
I'd be more than happy if boxing was ran like the UFC! Where the best would fight the best and there would be no promoters or TV networks getting in the way of making fights but I just don't see that happening.
If PBC and ESPN created their own belts then the WBC, WBA, IBF, and WBO would still be around cause every other promoter not aligned with PBC or ESPN would fight for those titles...
So Yes there would be way more titles than there already is...

Good point on those 2, but they don't do a ppv model so the unifications for them won't occur. I do believe that they can get shut out and the game will move on. Let dazn and the smaller promoters compete for the old bodies and the 2 major US based boxing groups compete with one another. I'm perfectly happy with Canelo doing his fights over there and if he never decides to face an ESPN or PBC guys cool, the game moves on. Same with Joshua. We never get those fights anyway. But the model I suggest keeps fighters active, there is less punishment for losing a fight so fighters will be more willing to step in with one another and we get more bigger fights. Yes we have to sacrifice a Charlo-Canelo or AJ-Wilder but that's not the end of the world

Respects to Keith Idec for calling out the WBA! It is PATHETIC how Belt Organizations are allowed to do whatever and nothing can be done about it. Ranking Positions and Title Shots are being SOLD to the highest bidder. Lets call it what it is, Tank was elevated likely because of Mayweather's Power and Influence in the Sport. He likely cut a nice check to make that happen for HIS FIGHTER!
