Tell me, compared to Crawford and Keith what exactly does he do so great that makes everyone think that he can just blow through those guys. Both Keith and Crawford are much more skilled, faster, and athletic. Thurman has better defense and Crawford has a lot more tools. People talk about Spence's pressure and bodywork but I don't see Crawford and Thurman staying in the pocket due to their high IQ, counter-punching, athleticism, and their abilities to switch and change tactics. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if Mikey outpoints Spence. Mikey does everything better than Spence accept applying pressure. The media has made Spence out to be this elite fighter but I just don't see it. He doesn't scratch the floor with Floyd, Pac, Tito, Oscar, Wilfred, Hearns, Forest, and Leonard. He just isn't that talented. Being objective I rate Thurman and Crawford higher than Spence. Hell, a healthy Kell Brook would've beaten Spence.
He almost got stopped by a tier 2 level journeyman. FACEPALM AT THIS THREAD.

I think he’s the second best at 147 but as a pound for pounder he has the weakest resume by far. He passes the eye test somewhat but he has a number of weaknesses that I suspect will be exploited soon as he gets to the top level guys.

He is a great puncher with both hands to head or body. He has a high work rate and a great chin and has never been down or hurt much. He gets hit some as most hard attacking boxers do but he boxes well and seldom loses a round. I think he is the best welterweight fighting today. MAN DOWN!
Actually Bundu said that he favors Thurman against Spence.

Rewind 4 years and replace 'Spence' with 'Golovkin', and you have a fighter in a similar situation.

He passes the eye test, and his skills are solid and proven. But no, we will not know how truly good he is until he fights other elite WWs.

Spence is a cold stone killer at WW.

He won't be that effective once he goes up. At WW he is too powerful and strong. He is definitely there to be hit. No head movement. Planted feet. That is the type of fighter that can get knocked out badly. Once he moves up, he might get found out.

He has a lot of flaws, but none of them matter much at WW.
