Comments Thread For: Eubank Jr: DeGale Grudge Match is Up There with Froch-Groves 1

Chris Eubank Jr. believes his super middleweight clash with James DeGale will be one of the biggest grudge matches in UK history. The two fighters have been trading words for several years, and they will finally collide on February 23rd at the O2 Arena in London. DeGale has won two fights in a row since suffering a shocking points loss to Caleb Truax in December of 2017.

The irony of Euwank Jr calling Degale "kid".

Never have the words ‘Elite’ and ‘top of our game’ been used so loosely

A grudge match .....OK. but unlike Froch and Groves Eubank Jr . has failed on both occasions of asking . Degale has taken this instead of a tougher route for less money...that makes sense. but to say they are both a the top of their game is not true. Degale is certainly not and if Jr. is then so far it's not the very top level he speaks of.At this time this fight is a decent mach up but no more than a c+. Jr. needs to bliz Degale and then fight and beat one of the top guys only then can he talk this way.

I wonder how many ppv buys they are targeting. I'll be surprised if it does >25,000. Groves vs DeGale did just over 40,000. We'll see.

It's nothing like Froch Groves. Froch was the second best at 168 after Ward, and was holding two belts after beating Kessler and Bute.
Groves was undefeated and mandatory. See the difference?
Eubank talking absolute **** as usual.
I'm confident Degale hands him defeat number three.

In his own mind Chris Eubank Jnr beats Groves, Froch and Degale on the same night in from of 90,00 people at Wembley.

chris eubank is national level, he is nothing like groves.

And you know, DeGale had the intention of being like Froch, he actually tried with a tough set of opponents, but he fell by the wayside. He really set out to be an elite, but failed grandly and seems to have settled into a sub-world delusional grandeur than kept joe calzaghe keen for 10 years.
