  • Anybody else enjoy DAZN commentary over ESPN?

I actually enjoy hearing Mancini, SRL, Kenny over ESPN's Bradley and others. ESPN sounds too formulaic and plastic imo. Even Mannix between switchups ain't that bad. Mora? I heard DAZN now has Chavez on their Spanish feed.

i've heard nothing but negative things about DAZN's commentating team.

I enjoyed ESPN's team. They need to have Max and Ward on there.

Mannix is solid. I'm fine with Kenny, Mora is OK. SRL is terrible to listen to though and the team just doesn't mesh well imo. I love listening to Bradley, he says funny **** and it's hilarious to listen to him try to pronounce names, but Kriegel is the absolute worst. If ESPN swaps him with Kellerman they will have the best crew going imo. With that being said, I actually think DAZN's British team of Halling and Gallagher was the most informative and unbiased duo I've heard in a while doing the Cheeseman show last week. I wish they would do every British DAZN show.

You didn't like SRL in the Munguia vs Inoue bout? He basically commentating everything that Munguia was doing right with combinations to the body like "look at those power shots to the body.."

When Kenny, Mora, and SRL were talking about Munguia fighting the likes of Canelo, Andrade or Jacobs he held within to say that the kid is not ready for that level yet. I think SRL does great.

Mark Kriegel should stick to writing, he's a terrible commentator. Tim Bradley is a great analyst and Tessitore is fine. I think ESPN need to use Andre Ward more. Al Bernstein is my favorite sportscaster/analyst though.

As for ESPN regular, I didn't listen to last one - but overall I agree with BigZ44 - Bradley is good to listen to, Joe Tessitore is all-right for blow-by-blow guy, He's not annoying and not trying too hard... but They should get rid of Kriegel.
Put Max in there with Joe and Tim and You should have a nice crew... Max with Ward might not work though, Max is awkward with some boxers...

As for DAZN - Sugar Ray Leonard is as terrible as ever, no idea why They keep throwing him into broadcast teams. It always fails, He wasn't any good in the 80s on HBO, on NBC with PBC - and isn't any good now.
I'm a fan of Sergio Mora though. He's excellent. Brian Kenny is allright too.
What's makes SRL terrible? I don't get it. Does he mumble in broadcasts? No. Does he detail what fighters are doing right, yes.

I forgot how aggravating Brian Kenny is to me until I heard him two weeks ago on DAZN. Not only was he talking way too much but he was jocking/nuthugging Jaime Munguia like no other. He was even crazy excited for missed and blocked punches. I can understand the play-by-play, blow-by-blow, communications degree background commentator talking a whole bunch when it's a two man team and he's paired with an inexperienced, former fighter/trainer commentary partner. But when there's other commentators on the call that are capable and talk plenty without provocation, the play-by-play guy just needs to call the action and leave all the extras for their partners.

Anything as long as I don't have to listen to that cokksukker Lampley anymore. The only upside to HBO folding up their boxing program.
