Boxed his ears off? What a pile of manure. Boxed his ears off after getting back up? After Ward got back up from the knockdown he dived in and grabbed Kovalev’s legs to hold on. He then turned the fight into a boring wrestling and grabbing match in an attempt to smother Kovalev’s offense. Ward threw less, landed less, and was outboxed in every round, most notably the 10th, and the fact that the judges gave the 10th to Ward just confirms the corruption. Boxed his ears off... fuck me.

The push to make that into a competitive fight at the time was bad but now the narrative has switched to Kovalev being dominated.

Kovalev clearly won 5 of the first 6 rounds. Nobody denies that but he clearly won 2 of the last 3 rounds too. I personally felt he won 3 of the last 4. At the fight I had it 117-110 and I re-watched twice and the closest I could conceive was 115-112 but settled on 116-111 being about right.

I don't know if Kovalev is racist or not, but as I said before here, George W Bush was compared to an ape also. That doesn't make him black.
