Sounds like he's trying to excuse his loss by insinuating that Kovalev would get the decision because he's the favorite. Alvarez didn't continue to harp on that sentiment but that was clearly an excuse.....Seems that what "actually happened" in a fight, or after a fight is commonly replaced with selective memory.

I look at it as him knowing if it comes to boxing and winning a UD then it would be Kovalev, if it by KO then its me. He obviously see himself as been limited in terms of boxing to a UD and tries to score another KO.

Very true. I sort of feel the same about the Kovalev/Alvarez 1. Kovalev gave it all he had and Alvarez landed the bomb that changed everything.

In the rematch, I figured Alvarez would be more confident and try to mow Sergey down, to no avail. Sergey was tentative all night, his legs looked a bit shot and he was clearly trying to land shots just to win rounds, not to hurt Alvarez as he does all of his opponents.

It just seemed like both guys were off and it showed. Whatever Kovalev did Saturday night, needs to be done with a bit more mustard from here on out. He was a sitting duck on Saturday and I didn't like it at all.

Hats off for the win though.

or he knows kovalev was lead promoter and picked and paid the judges so a decision was incredibly unlikely. just look at the first fight 5 rounds to 1 in favor of kovalev...hmm no. he had to ko him just like kovalev had to ko ward or he would lose. this is the game. he just wasnt able to do it
