Fair play, Kov fought well. I thought Alvarez could have thrown more punches, but he looked flat footed and didn’t get into position to pull the trigger quick enough.
I still think Kov’s chin is shakey, Alvarez seemed to wobble him a couple of times.
Gvozdyk Kov would be a good match up.

Seems like the writer in the article didn't pay much attention to Alvarez's post fight, in-ring interview.

Alvarez said, "I have no excuses. I know that if it went the distance he was going to be the favorite, so I tried to go and press the fight, but I have no excuses. I thought that I put on a good performance but just did not get the result."

Sounds like he's trying to excuse his loss by insinuating that Kovalev would get the decision because he's the favorite. Alvarez didn't continue to harp on that sentiment but that was clearly an excuse.....Seems that what "actually happened" in a fight, or after a fight is commonly replaced with selective memory.

Kovalev has shown he still has the desire of a true champ, but has he lost a bit of his power? He's not sparking people like he used to a few years ago.

It just reminded me of the Mitchell/Banks rematch a bit. And no, taking a dive isn't just dropping and faking a KO, some guys just won't throw for whatever God awful reason like Clottey did in the Pac fight.

... I don't know, man... I thought that Banks simply caught Mayhem cold in the first match... and they both were fringe contenders, in fact they both ended their careers very soon after that rematch...
