Beautiful display of boxing by Kovalev

i had doubts if he’d be able to get by Alvarez the second time but I’m glad that I was wrong. He showed that he’s able to maintain his boxing ability on the outside without rushing for the KO. He had the tools to beat Ward by using his boxing skills (which he did in the first) but just needed more discipline mentally. If he keeps that up and abandons his desire for the KO then I actually see him beating Bivol, Gvozdyk, Beterbiev, etc.

... tell us just when Kovalev didn't display "beautiful boxing"???...

... but, at this stage, I can't see him beating those guys -- they belong to the same "school of boxing"... they all do know that shit...

Kovalev used his boxing skills and his jab was fantastic, snapping Alvarez’s head back on many occasions. He has power in both hands, but I’m glad he was light on his feet and boxing, instead of looking for that power shot that drains stamina every time he misses with it. He kept the pace for 12 rounds, tired a bit but didn’t gas, and threw his shots smoothly. Didn’t go all in into every punch, and kept Alvarez honest and uncertain.

If he doubled and tripled up the left by ending downstairs, he would be so much more dangerous.

This guy doesn't even need a trainer. He needs the best conditioning coach he could find. He is naturally gifted.

Great point. Even Buddy said there was not much he needed to do with him. The biggest thing was not over training and eating right going into the training camp.

Kovalev mentioned on Russian media that his issue was in the beginning he would always stay active, but when he only fought 3 times a year, his stamina suffered.
