The two judges who scored this 116-112 are almost as bad as the two judges who gave Broner 112 against Pac. This scoring is getting so ridiculous in boxing that it's sickening. Kova won every round easily and could have had 10-8 in the 12th.

Erases doubts?

Mikey Garcia beating an already defending champ in Robert Easter Jr. erases doubt. Seeing how Alvarez was on his A game in the first fight and perhaps his B game in the rematch, and that Kova did get KO’d, I wouldn’t make headlines to say “erases doubt.” More like “phew I survived the rematch and got a belt again.” Kovalev winning rounds because Alvarez had a less work rate doesn’t men Kovalev “schooled” Alvarez in the rematch.

Kovalev wasn’t beating Ward regardless. People are better off talking about the first fight than the second. The ref is to blame for the second fight. Duva tried her best to overrule Byrd’s call.
