Great game plan, but the fight wasn’t close. There was definitely a danger there that Sergey could tire, but as it got deep into the fight I actually could see Alvarez the one looking like he would get put away.. great performance and tough to beat when on point

He did better than myself and most people anticipated. He never wavered and threw over 800 punches. Out preformed expectations. Interested to see him fight the other champs now.

Kovalev fought smart. He learned from the first fight and didn't make the same mistakes. He should be getting credit for it because it is deserved, but I'm sure people will ignore that and look at the lawsuit on the horizon. By the way, anyone look at this chick? That's exactly what Kov did. This time his demeanour didn't change after 6 rounds when his man was still in front of him throwing away. A focused Kovalev is a handful for anyone. His workrate will always win him rounds, just a question of keeping switched on for the full 12. The LHW division IS ON.

It was a very intense fight and I was afraid for Kovalev. Didn't want to see him get hurt again. I am glad he redeemed himself with probably his career best performance.

Alvarez looked one dimensional to me. Never had any plan other than to try to counter and hurt Kovalev with the right hand which didn't work this time since Kovalev anticipated it and also took it well due to better conditioning.

I am not sure if anyone noticed it but Alvarez was actually staggered a bit during the final rounds. A more energized Kovalev could have finished him right there but he was very tired at that point.

I wouldn’t say tired because there were points were Kovalev looked like could’ve gotten Alvarez out of there.

Props to Alvarez for that chin and his strength. Unfortunately couldn’t adjust and gave the title away.

The second wind kicked in beautifully and so timely for Kovalev that we barely saw any sign of tiredness on him in that fight. He might have been over-trained before. He's probably right.

Great performance by Kovalev but Alvarez made it easy.

He never pushed the fight except for 10 or 15 seconds in the beginning of most of the rounds and the last round.

He was winging that right that caught Kovalev before from the beginning of the fight. By the time that punch would have any effect Kovalev was expecting it.

The reason that punch worked before was because Alvarez used it sporadically. Kovalev was tired and did not see the punch coming.

Last night Kovalev never got fatigued because of the pacing set by himself and lack of effort from Alvarez. He was expecting the punch so it never caught him off guard.

It still takes a great effort by Kovalev to realize his mistakes and make the necessary adjustments to correct it.
