Need to consider that if Rigo, with all his experience, couldn't unlock the Loma puzzle, then why would Lopez be able to as a relatively inexperienced 21 year-old.

I like Lopez, I think he's the real deal, but he needs to step up the competition level for a few fights before he's ready for the top dog. He'll mature and improve a lot over the next couple of years, and likely be ready for Loma around the time Loma retires and Lopez is 2 weight divisions higher - ie not going to happen.

Lest we forget, Loma exposed and exploited technical flaws in Rigo's game that no-one even knew were there, even Rigo. He would have a field day with the 21 year-old Lopez.

You're trying to prop up a win against a undersized 37 year old man who is a pure counterpuncher. Even Loma knew it was a meaningless win having said so after the fight.

As for the post fight celebrations is it disrespectful,f.uck yeah but I’m cool with it

you either love him for it or hate him for it but either way you he has your attention and for a young
Fighter that’s important. Too many fighters are vanilla , have no personality and that’s why they have no fans or h.aters because their boring as f.uck . You need some panache as Fury would say to get some interest from the public especially in the States

Agreed. He had been talking about his new celebration in the lead up to the fight. It's a sport but it's also entertainment.

Bad comparison friend. Lopez has the size, speed, and power stand and trade with Loma. His last two fights are better comparisons to make even though Linares and Pedraza were moving up to 135. If Loma doesn't move up to 140 within the next year..Lopez will want a crack or try and leave Top Rank. The kid wants to be a star.

If he moves up all of the sudden the size and power he has at 135 doesnt mean much against huge hard punching jr welters like Prograis and Taylor.

Yeah for sure in the States where boxing is a niche sport and elite fighters don’t have the support of their country to become well known like say in the UK

For a fighter to be known outside of hardcore boxing fans. They have to move the needle and garner attention with their personality whether you can get the public to love you or hate you it really
Doesn’t matter they just have to invested in you enough to watch your fights

It seems to be working look how many people in this thread are complaining and hating Teofimo because of his disrespectful actions at the end of the fight. But I bet next time he fights most of those same people will have enough interest in him to watch it

That’s a good thing that basically started pro 2 years ago with little to no fanfare from the boxing community compared to Shakur or Conlon who both had so much hype when they turned pro

I’d say now Teofimo has surpassed both of them as far as hype and being a fighter to watch when they fight , part of it is what he does in the ring and his ignorant celebrations after and part of it is what he does outside of the ring with his confidence in himself which can border on arrogance

On a side note, how many belts does boxing need? Lopez had about three belts on that I never heard of.
He is the Unified U.S.A Champion(NABA - USA Lightweight Title, NABF Lightweight Title, USBA Lightweight Title) and the WBC Continental Champion that's why you see lots of belts!

He has. Being on ESPN and providing exciting knock outs has vaulted him ahead of them.
