  • Comments Thread For: Kovalev: Alvarez Acting Like He's The Best, Undisputed Already

FRISCO, Texas Eleider Alvarez believes Sergey Kovalev is full of excuses. Kovalev thinks Alvarez is full of himself. The former WBO light heavyweight champion told BoxingScene.com before a weigh-in Friday afternoon that he senses overconfidence from the Colombian boxer. Alvarez dropped Russia's Kovalev three times and stopped him in the seventh round August 4 at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

I'd love to believe Kovalev and see a real return to his old form. But I'm skeptical until he proves me wrong.

It must really hurt Kov ego with the way he was taken out. He needs to be smart tonight. Am sure he wants to take Alvarez out in style for sweet revenge.

          After the fight tonight:

"I lost because I wasn't in top shape. Buddy held me back during training camp and I didn't push my conditioning like I should have.

Teddy Cruz didn't want me to overtrain but he was too easy on me. The workouts were too lax and we shouldn't have had those celebratory vodka shots after sparring that day.

Kathy is in talks with Freddie Roach to work with me for my next fight. The Krusher will be back better than ever, stay tuned."

Did he actually thank his trainer in this article??? LOL.. How about listening to him for a change. I'm sure Buddy will appreciate it more if you do. You can thank him later.

Kovalev isn't a "stick and move" kind of guy. He's the Krusher and crush he must. Give everything in the first 3 and hope for the best is what I say. He will not win a war of attrition... too rich and soft now. Silk PJ's syndrome..

Kovalev is done, he quit vs Ward in the second fight, and then lost easy to Alvarez... he needs to retire.

I wonder if we will see another twinkle toes knockdown from Kovalev like last time. Seeing it always gives me a laugh. Time for this drunk woman beaters relevancy to end tonight.

Won’t matter, it’s inevitable that Kov’s demise is coming tonight!
