It's just 3kgs and It will be big if he fights Jarrett Hurd after Hurd takes Charlo's belt

Hes the A side, he probably could if he had to but he isnt doing anything that makes him too uncomfortable. It would be a big struggle to get down there and hed rather fight at 160 and since hes the draw, people will fight him there.

To be fair though he did give GGG a very generous purse split in both matches, considering who is the bigger ppv draw of the two of them.

He's really broad. He's short but he's muscular and cutting weight gets harder the older you get.

The haters are too heavy. He made 154 fine his last time around. Why would he move down in weight for Hurd though? He’s done everything he could at 154

Not only that..Charlo already lost (wtf) and Hurd will likely be moving up sooner rather than later anyway.

No one is really calling for that fight though as most people arent sure Hurd can even beat a top 5 MW..let alone the current top one.

Canelo stops him. Horrible style matchup for Hurd

Because he's too big for the weight

I agree. Only reason to go down to 154 is if someone collected all the belts.

Canelo has permanently gained muscle mass for 160. This has nothing to do with draining theory and water weight. Canelo in his 160 weigh ins no longer looks drained but a boxer seasoned at that weight. Therefore at 154 fight would be detrimental. Maybe 158lbs at best to give the opportunity for a star like Spence Jr. or a Mayweather rematch.

But its the same reason Mikey Garcia will never make 135 again. These regimens have permanently acclimated to a new weight. More importantly, they've got nothing else to prove at lower weights.

Why is it when it comes to Canelo people feel like he’s gotta be the one to always make that sacrifice? It makes more sense for Hurd to meet Nelo at 160, soon Hurd won’t even be able to make 54 any ways

                    He probably still can.

At this point only a Mayweather rematch can bring him back to 154.
