    George Groves has retired...

I always wanted to see him beat DeGale again.
He’s had a good career and some good paydays, nice to see a fighter go out on his own terms

That’s what I expected him to do, the winner of that fight is an easy payday for Groves.

He’s already earned enough though most probably, Groves isn’t the greedy type either

        Probably for the best.

He achieved his dream, been in some big fights and made plenty of money.

Sad to see him go but i think it's the right time for him.

Enjoyed watching his career and he seems like a decent bloke.

I hope he does some punditry work.

Looked terrible against Callum Smith, and to be honest I don't think he's looked the same fighter after the second Carl Froch fight. Think he seemed mentally spent after that and not as confident. Shame because he was a really exciting gunslinger in his early career, seemed more like Audley Harrison in the latter days. Probably for the best he calls it a day, don't need to see him getting duffed up by fighters he shouldn't be losing to.

Actually, to add to that. I would say the Eduard Gutknecht affair may have also had an effect. Also, after winning a World title, which was always his end goal, there's nowt left for him to acheive. Seems the title picture is rapidly moving over the horizon, and he's probably no desire to climb the ladder once again.
