I actually thought he showed good from a distance. I think his defense is seriously lacking and I hope he corrects that over time. He took a lot of unnecessary blows in that fight. Munguia has a great reach advantage with his height and reach. I would hope he can improve upon his distance punching, and his defense. Those are probably the two areas I would like to see him improve in. Other than that, Munguia is an exciting fighter to watch. He's only 22! Looking forward to seeing big things from him.

It’s unfortunate that Munguia is being criticized for being the exact same fighter as Hurd. I mean both these mofo’s are huge 154 lbs and block shots with their face, the only difference is Hurd is 28 yrs old while Jaime is only 22, far from a finish product. I say give the kid time his defense will get better and so will his overall skill level. IMO, Munguia has already surpassed both Zurdo & Leo Santa Cruz in drawing power besides Canelo there’s no other Mexican fighter with as much fan fare as this kid his future is bright.

He needs to work on bringing his hands back to the RIGHT SPOT! His defense is lacking and just cause you can eat the shot doesnt mean you SHOULD!. Still intrested in the kid and believe he has a huge future if GROOMED Right however i think he gonna become food for CANELO sooner rather than later.

He got hit with the same overhand right punch over and over and over.

Maybe work on your ability to make changes mid fight? Because you were smiling at Inoue in the first round but looked concerned by the third

Excellent! Jermell or Canelo would eat him alive because of that! He drops that left after every jab! Take him to Nacho! SALUTE to Nacho!

They both have horrible defense, but Hurd has beaten much better competition! My fear is that Munguia is being rushed towards Canelo! I would rather see him fight Horn, Brook, and Michel Soro, if he can stay at 154! Andrade is no bueno!
