The guy who sent armstrong to the hospital

The skinny ***ish kid from chicago's west side, who nobody wanted to fight, the real uncrowned lightweight champion davey day. Read the true story of his on ebay, with an 1933 boxing exhibit card. You'll learn something, you didn't know. Seller is -goldstarstamps, or search, armstrong vs. Davey day. He also sent, baby arizmendi, pedro montanez,to get stitched up. Canzoneri ambers, jenkins, zivic and sugar ray robinson, wouldn't fight him. Duran wouldn't last three rounds as a lightweight or welterweight. Ray arcel was davey's assistant in ny and said, he was a great fighter, full of class, ability and a pleasure to be around.

What the hell are you talking about? Armstrong knocked him out and Arizmendi beat him. So they got cut and needed stitches. They still beat him. He retired at the young age of 29 with 9 losses on his record. He was good but not exceptional, Duran would murder him and so would Ray Robinson and Jose Napoles at lightweight or welterweight. You got carried away with him. If he was that good he would be famous as a great lightweight and he isn't. You statement that the great lightweight champion Roberto Duran wouldn't last 3 rounds with him is ridiculous and wrong. He probably wouldn't last long with Duran.

        Hey Ron

        A little off topic but....

What is your secret ingredient/s to put with the adrenaline to stop the bleeding (when a boxer suffers a cut)?

Don't worry, there is no trainers on this forum, only keyboard warriors.

Most of these guys are too young to realize, knowing, anything about Davey Day, except what they read into a boxing record. The point is that Day was Barney Ross stablemate, and policedog from 1934 to 1938. Davey was too good to be his second fiddle, Joe Jacobs manager of Max Schmeling offered Pian & Winch $7,500 to buy Days contract, saying you can't do Davey any good because you have Champion Ross. Day was was the cornerstone of that stable. You had to go through Day to get a crack at Barney, and nobody could do it! Tony Canzoneri Lou Ambers, Pedro Montanez, Henry Armstrong and all others, from 1935 to 1938. Armstrong got his wish, to fight Barney, bypassing Davey to get a big payday (gate) in MSG. Davey did all the things Barney couldn't do to Armstrong. The Exhibit card of Day from 1933 on Ebay isn't the main attraction, it's the context that is mind blowing. Read and have your own opinions. Avitene, vaseline and Dr. bagley, Armstrongs corner cut man. Ray Arcel, Durans manager said, " Davey was a victim of circumstances, and was shunned from fighting Armstrong in a rematch, including, Lou Amber,s who was stripped of his Title for not fighting Day by the N.B.A. on March 22nd 1940. Mike Jacobs the NY Boxing Czar (promoter) was in complete control of all Championship fights, protecting all his Champions from Day. Duran couldn't hit Davey in the ass. Davey Day never suffered a cut eye, in over 300 fights, amateur and pro estimating 10,000 punches couldn't do it. That's why they wouldn't let the Great Sugar Ray Robinson at 19 yrs old to fight Day 1941. A cut eye can ruin any young fighters future.
