Thurman is great, despite what happened tonight.

He is a great fighter. You don't beat guys like Garcia and Porter without being elite. He just needed to shake off the ring rust.

I don't think he is great. I didn't think he was great before the fight and I think less of him now. I am aware he has been hurt by mediocre fighters and I consider that a weakness. He is too fragile for greatness in my opinion. A champion overcoming adversity can be a plus but when he has to overcome adversity from guys like Collazo and Lopez it's a big minus to me. Thurman didn't look rusty in the early rounds but he looked fragile when Lopez landed some good punches. Great champion Canelo showed how you take care of average fighters like Lopez. He didn't let Lopez win a single minute of a single round and he blasted him out early. I think Spence, Crawford and Pacquiao would all win every round against Lopez and stop him within 10 rounds and Spence would only need 4 rounds.

I agree with this. He should have dominated the riverside punching bag from start to finish and stopped him if he was great. Yes he beat Porter And Garcia but not by very much and I don't think either of them are great either.

If someone is looking for a great welterweight champion Crawford and Spence are where to look. They absolutely crush average fighters and they don't need to overcome adversity because they dominate and kick ass consistently. There is good reason that Thurman says he will fight Pacquiao or Porter this year but not Crawford or Spence. MAN DOWN!

It seemed at 1st 2 me Thurman was treating this like a spar almost to shake the rust off but i dont think his right elbow/hand is 100% otherwise he woulda tried 2 get Lopez out of there after getting hurt, didnt do a lot, when he landed that right he didnt seem hurt Lopez really.Credit to Lopez, tough guy.

                  Those guy's aren't elite man.
If your an elite you don't go life and death
with fighter's like Josesito. Ring rust and being
out for a few year's is one thing, but almost
getting knocked out by a journey man?
