I can't understand why any boxing fan would root against DAZN. You're getting multiple fights every month -- plus every Canelo fight for about the next four years -- for $10 per month.

The quality of the fights is no worse than the crap shoveled to us on FOX and Showtime by PBC and on ESPN+ by Top Rank. Plus an annual DAZN subscription is cheaper than two Canelo PPVs or two lousy PPV's like the Pacquiao-Broner embarrassment of a card last weekend.

I'm not a DAZN shill. I just think it's good value. And it's funny how people said five years ago streaming TV never would work, never would threaten cable.

Why do you think ESPN started the + streaming service? Because cord-cutters were killing their cable subscription-based business model. ESPN has lost around 15-20 million subscribers in the last five years.

I've been a massive fan. I doubt it will stay committed to boxing though. As with other countries, DAZN will buy the rights to other sports and become a general sports app.

Which is 100 percent fine, providing even more value for money.

This isn't like terrestrial or cable TV, which only has a limited number of bandwidth slots to fill. DAZN can stream just as many fights as it does now, if not more, and still have room for as many sports for which it can buy the rights.

Streaming doesn't have airwave slots. It can stream all it wants. Just look at the number of events that ESPN+ televises concurrently and look at how many shows and movies you can watch at any time on Netflix. That's exactly what DAZN wants to do.

DAZN already has rights to major European soccer leagues in some countries and MotoGP in Spain, where that sport is insanely popular. DAZN also has NFL rights in Canada.

The same strategy will be in play in the U.S. DAZN already landed rights to some MLB games in the U.S. for this season and will be a player in bidding when TV rights come up for the four major U.S. stick-and-ball leagues. DAZN won't land an exclusive, but it will be a contender in either exclusive or limited STREAMING rights.

Former ESPN boss John Skipper, who led the Worldwide Leader to its highest growth point, is running DAZN. Dude knows what he's doing.

DAZN needs the main sports to succeed in the US and i dont see that happening, at least for a long time. Luckily for DAZN they have some Russian money to keep them up... for now

I have no clue what you’re talking about.. my point was simple, Oscar had the leverage in the Canelo-Jacobs negotiations, why didn’t he acquire OPTIONS on Jacobs? Why would he allow Hearn to get Jacobs under a three fight agreement? He let Hearn use Canelo as leverage.. be quiet when grown folks talking next time

Just Like Netflix will never replace Hollywood Theater Releases BUT they're great and affordable alternatives.

Just like for example Premier League is not big in the US, but it is the most watched league in the world with something crazy like broadcasting in 212 territories to 643 million homes and a potential TV audience of 4.7 billion people. So you can indeed thrive just fine without being a success in the US Market but will it one day be something that every boxer in boxing will be fighting on? Absolutely NOT! You will always have Networks showing boxing regardless if it is Showtime, FOX, ESPN, SKY, BT, ITV and they will never be replaced by a APP BUT again a APP is a great alternative
