Comments Thread For: Carl Frampton Would Consider a Drop in Weight To 122-Pounds

Last month, former two division world champion Carl Frampton suffered the second loss of his career. He came in as a heavy favorite, but found himself overpowered at times by the physically stronger Josh Warrington, who retained his IBF featherweight world title with a twelve round unanimous decision.

There's no way he can still make 122 and be healthy, if anything I think he should go up to 130 and chase Selby or a Quigg rematch or try to poach a belt to become a 3 weight champ. The top guys at 126 have different fights on their minds and Frampton is on the outside looking in, better off finding a new playground.

He’d be tiny against Selby, besides selby is moving up to lightweight I believe.

The quigg option is a good one, but with frampton with frank warren and quigg with eddie hearn, can’t see that happening either

Hate to say it but Frampton is yesterday's man. I used to be quite high on Carl but the last few years have seen him slip off the radar of must-see fighters. Lacking genuine charisma doesn't help either. He's kind of blown it.

He could go back to 122 and get funked up by rigo.

Selby is going all the way to 135?? That's not a good decision. Still think Frampton should go to 130, there are at least intriguing fights there for him, he's the odd man out at 126 now unless LSC wants a trilogy over a unification

Pretty sure I read that on world boxing news.
Warrington had a good year and I’m not taking anything away from him, but selby looked like a dead man walking against him and the IBF 10lb rule wouldn’t have helped him.
I always think if stephen smith is a super feather why isnt selby(who beat smith) at lightweight
