GGG should fight Callum Smith at 168 to save his legacy.

If he's truly not interested in the Canelo trilogy then why bother staying at 160 if you aren't going to fight the top dog? GGG is almost 37 years old, the clock is ticking and knocking off the #1 guy at 168 would be massive for his legacy. As much as I would love to see Golovkin beat the hell out of Charlo, the Smith fight is the best one out there for him.

Curious, what makes Callum Smith the top dog over say Benavidez or Plant or Zurdo if he stays at 168? What has he done at 168 to make himself the top dog? Sure he won the WBSS tourney, but that tourney didn't have the other three champs in them.

As for the fight itself? Sign me up! Would love to see GGG try his hand at 168. He would have to box more and he is capable of that. Smith will have a pretty big size advantage so I would be interested in seeing how GGG would try to attack him.

Smith is too much at this stage in his career.

The others didnt have the balls to enter the tournament so that makes the winner top dog. Zurdo is a fraud.

He has the best resume and is ring magazine champ. Those other guys should have entered the tournament.

That would make a win over him all that much sweeter. If he doesn't want the Canelo trilogy, then staying at 160 makes little to no sense. Unless one of the smaller guys like Spence come up at 160 for a big PPV fight. But why not try his hand at 168? He always talked about it, so now seems like the right time for it.

His resume' consists of exactly what though? It's not really all that good of a resume' and the top spot at 168 should be vacant until proven otherwise.

Majority of the top guys at that weight class didn't enter the tournament unlike at say CW, so just because Smith won doesn't make him the top dog at 168.

His win over Groves is the best win anybody has at 168. Pretty much everybody has him ranked #1 at SMW.

He would be better off aiming for Zurdo if he fights at 168, that is a winnable fight. Otherwise, he should set up a fight with Andrade. Risky fight but at least there is a title on the line.
