Philadelphia also has a pretty sizeable Ukrainian population. Interesting, cause Hearn just announced a card in Philly for the week before. -
Hart isn't a sexy name but he did just almost beat Zurdo twice, so he's definitely B-level at least. It's just that he's at 168... if it's going to be an easy voluntary fight before a unification, I almost wish it was against a former common Stevenson, Kovalev, or Ward opponent so that Gvozdyk could outperform them and at least get that out of the fight. Facing Hart he's not going to get anything out of it other than potentially outperforming what Zurdo did, which I guess if Zurdo goes on to have success at 175, could be just as valuable as outperforming the other names I mentioned, it's just that that is no guarantee that Zurdo has that type of success at 175.
Sullivan Barrera would seem preferable to me than Hart... maybe Mikhalkin... Pascal for SURE would be better. That's probably the best option, Pascal for sure. But Pascal is probably still healing up from Bivol. Outside of that, I guess it doesn't really matter. Light heavyweight is the best division in boxing in terms of the top 7 or so, but like most divisions, there is pretty much nothing outside of that, in terms of interesting opponents for a boxer of Gvozdyk's caliber. So Hart is probably as good as any aside from Pascal.Comment

Hart would be a decent fight. I wonder how long Top Rank will marinate Gvozdyk vs. Beterbiev and the Alvarez-Kovalev II winner. At least 2020 IMO. I like what Top Rank has done on ESPN so far. That would go down the drain if they decide to marinate those LHW unifications. All those guys are in their early- to mid-30s. These fights need to be made now.Comment

Fight was as close as it was due Ramirez being severely limited with that injury in the 2nd half of the fight. And even then Hart couldn't beat him. He's just not very good. Gvozdyk would destroy him.Hart isn't a sexy name but he did just almost beat Zurdo twice, so he's definitely B-level at least. Like I said, I just want to see Gvozdyk in a unification bout later this year. If Alvarez wins, he will have two options there to do it. Need a fun little round robin on ESPN between the top LHWs.Comment
