You should ask yourself if Broner was fighting a C class fighter will he still be too defensive, off course not. He will throw punches for sure, because he can with those kinds.. Now he threw less punches with Porter and Mikey also.. but even lesser with Pacquiao. It tells you that Pac is elusive and has power in his hands that Broner couldn't let himself go.

All you said is because of what Pac did to him.. That shows you Pac has some left even at this stage. The fact that Broner wanted to shell up and just survive is a mentality of a broken man in the ring. Those punches Pac threw still got some venom left.
