    I thought amateur gloves were heavier, like 14-16...

        junior middle to light heavy 10oz
        heavyweights ( cant remember if they use 10oz or 120z?)
        The weight of the gloves is one being considered not the size. Oz is a unit of measurement, isn't it?

        The heavier weight class will have thicker protective layers thus it is heavier and since these fighters are bigger it's only common sense the the gloves will be little bit bigger compared to the lower division.
