Comments Thread For: Thurman Admits Past Hand Injury Will Require More Monitoring

For Keith Thurman, the worst part about not being able to fight for the past 22 months wasn't the healing proceed, but the absence of a confirmed deadline. The unbeaten welterweight titlist will enjoy a celebrated ring return this Saturday, when he faces Josesito Lopez (36-7, 19KOs) in the main event of a Fox-televised card live from Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. The bout will be his first since a 12-round win over Danny Garcia in their March '17 title unification clash, after which he underwent elbow surgery.

People on here were savage about this man and his injuries calling him a duck. We typically hear the word injury and think it's minor or he's just being lazy. The body ain't nothing to joke with, hope it doesn't end up cutting his career shorter than it already has but he wouldn't be the first or last boxer to do so due to hand issues.

In other words, Thurman will be sidelined again after the fight with a hand injury. Already throwing out the excuses.

Like Keith, but Floyd had hand injuries his whole career.

It isn’t that Keith has been sitting out, it’s the fact that he has only been willing to fight against certain competition even with a warm up.

The excuses change from person to person that’s why Keith appears to be ducking. Hope he looks good on Saturday!!!

Lopez might upset Thurman. Lopez is not a bum he gives good fights, he's been been in some hellava fights.

Yeah these keyboard killers need to STFU and try hitting a heavybag daily, let alone hitting a hard @$$ human skull and body.

I was just getting ready to say this.

Floyd has been dealing with hand issues consistently since he was 28-29 years old. Yet he retired at 40! Throw Paulie in that category too. If Thurman wants to continue his boxing career he has to find a way to win. Simple as that.

I'm not sure who wraps Thurman's hands but could possibly be why he hurt his hands. When Floyd got with Nacho to do his wraps his hand issues were subdued for the most part. It also could be because Thurman does a lot of loading up on his shots from all sorts of angles which also takes a toll on your hands..
