He should retire, his hype job is over.I am a GGG fan, not to the extent where I think he is Marvin Hagler or anything like that, but I have always enjoyed his fights and believe him to be one of the best fighters of the past decade. He's fun to watch fight, and even in his mid 30s took a prime Canelo to a disputed draw and a razor thin SD. In essence he has shown that at this stage of his career he is on par to Canelo in his athletic prime- which says a lot because Alvarez is a great fighter too.
I don't know why you would gain any Schadenfreude based joy from fans of a certain fighter not talking about a given fighter, but I'd always like to talk about him.
Personally, I think he should probably consider retiring; he'll be 37 soon and thats a lot older than most people in his weight class continue at a high level. Though he may not have the in the ring miles on him as others there is no beating father time.Comment

Jacobs beat Triple L then Nelo beat Triple L TWICE. Media "Don't Know Shet Bout Boxing" they choose through their emotions....LMMFAO!What a great well thought out post. Guys talking about GGG getting exposed by Canelo, really? He shouldve gotten the W in the first fight and a draw would've made more sense in the 2nd fight. I believe majority of press row had Golovkin win ing both fights. But because the official judges scored it a SD it means he was exposed? Come on guys. I dont understand the hate toward GGG from so.e of you guysComment

Jacobs beat Triple L & Nelo beat Triple L twice. The ONLY 2 good fighters he fought his WHOLE pro career, that is all you need to know about that fraud.Hate is hate, its like they say, "the moon don't go howling at the dogs." In other words if they are hating you, you probably are doing something good.
I just don't get why so many Canelo fans try to downgrade GGG though, when they have put up 24 rounds that were very close. In essence if you are putting down GGGs ability then you are doing the same to Canelo, because at these respective stages in their careers they have shown to be roughly on par.Comment

I believe Canelo won the 2nd fight, but the 1st fight was very close! What I found funny, was that the argument Canelo used to say he won the first fight, was very similar to Lara's argument that he beat Canelo! Too much money on the table! #rd fight has to happen, but GGG needs to beat Andrade first! BTW, Jacobs might have something to say about it too!Comment

Cut it out. Triple L lost to Jacobs & Nelo twice, Triple L is one of the biggest hype jobs of the last decade. The whole "he's old" excuse started when he lost to Jacobs one of the 2 good fighters he fought his WHOLE pro career....LMMFAO!Nicely put - good to have some intelligence on this site for once.
I agree that Canelo and GGG showed themselves to be equals - different judges and GGG could have been 2 up, but it wouldn't change the fact that they basically matched each other in the ring.
Thing is, I believe Canelo is still improving, whereas GGG is on the slide. So you had a sub-prime Canelo vs a post prime GGG, and a third fight would heavily favour Canelo as a gap would appear.
Beating GGG right now wouldn't make Andrade or anyone else no.1 - would have to beat Canelo and Jacobs too, both of whom I think would beat GGG now.
I enjoyed watching GGG a lot too, but his day as top dog is done, unless he pulls a Hopkins out the bag, which I doubt.Comment
