Why did Wlad reject an AJ rematch ?

Just wondering why Wlad rejected an AJ rematch when they Wlad is edging AJ on the first fight before Wlad got caught by a nasty uppercut. He'll earn a huge amount of money too if he took a rematch

He did not. He just retired. He wanted to ride into the sunset in a high note and their fight was a good one.

He was already in his 40's. It was only going to be tougher once AJ had that experience of a high profile fight under his belt.

plus the pattern is, when wlad gets beaten up, he rarely rematches unless he knows the other guy is comatose retired. Imagine if he'd always had rematches after getting beaten up, he'd have lost to 6-7 middlers by now. Terrible for a champion. Damage limitation and media awareness is the word.

Wlad was edging the fight against a very very inexperienced champion. He knew that was his best chance. If he couldn’t beat him then he wouldn’t beat a more seasoned version in a rematch.

Klitschko put himself through his most rigorous training camp ever for that fight and actually had 2 training camps prior to it ,he was in phenominal condition, so he knew he would need another one like it. Probably had the heart taken out of him after such a fight. Now that he's had a break, he could take a few fights then go back at it now. Back to back training camps would have needed a bit more mental fortitude ,with the fury circus act also he had dealt with prior to that. all this took its toll .

He probably just lost that desire at that time.

Because it was time to let it go, he lost prior to that fight to Fury, a fight where he rarely let his hands go, he trained for the Fury rematch until it was called off, then had to train again for AJ. AJ might be inexperience coming into that fight but he would probably done even better than Wlad who was coming to the end of his career. Those factors are enough to make him retire.

Actually the pattern was run away from Wlad if you defeat him which was like 4 times in a multitude of fights including Fury who ran and Wlad only defeated once while in superb condition and that was to AJ ,the only guy to actually give Wlad a honest rematch get real .One guy he had to chase down was Brewster and Wlad retired him .

Klitschko was 67 and 3 leading up to Fury and you're on here pretending he took loses left and right, must have just started watching boxing or something because he rarely had rematches because he rarely lost that was the pattern ? Ha

Because he looked at it objectively and figured his chances of loosing are greater than that of him winning.

He was old and put up a good fight and almost had AJ out so it's not like he got dominated.

Retire on a good passing on the torch or come back and potentially get blasted out and finish career on three loses?

Have you ever heard of life after sports. How about enjoying the riches that boxing provided for Wladamir. That thing inside your skull doesn’t need anymore punishment. People forget about the long amateur career most fighters have, the Gym sparing I’m sure he had with his brother and others.
                    Enough is enough.
