Too much hype too soon. Gave him an inflated sense of ability and the extra attention added distractions which led to bad out of ring habits. He was pushed too fast. 135 to 147 was a bad move.

Hes gonna have a tough time going forward. He needs to rebuild settle in with his style so he can use it effectively BUT for someone who craves attention I don't see that happening at this point. One of the most irresponsible things hes done is trying to mimic Floyd's style n hoping itll work overnight.

I vividly remember Broner winning a very close and controversial decision over Daniel Ponce De Leon on HBO during his rise back in 2011. It was in that fight where the blueprint to beat him was revealed. De Leon kept pressure in his face and kept a high work rate throughout the fight to the point where most ringside observers felt like he had earned the decision. Instead Broner was gifted with a UD win and was onto bigger and better things. He did not dare give De Leon a rematch. In reality, his career should have suffered a setback then and who knows how that would have changed his trajectory both in and out of the ring.

What's sad about Broner is that he's been horribly enabled by those around him who happen to wield a lot of power in the world of boxing. Al Haymon continues to reward him with big fights and paydays despite his antics. It would be one thing if he were winning fights but he's not. He's losing them, getting a draw or he's eeking out very close decisions over journeyman guys like Adrian Granados. Yet he just made a career high minimum payday of $2.5 million to lose to Pacquiao. So why should he change?

Broner to me is Zab Judah 2.0. I think he's almost as talented as Zab was but he did not achieve the same level that Zab was able to. Zab continued to get paydays well into his 30's because of his name recognition and the fact that on any given night he could potentially roll back the clock and beat some young up and comer. I do not think AB is capable of doing the same.
