Srs question, why did Manny Pacquiao turn down random blood testing back then?

Floyd is a great fighter and in fairness, I honestly thought he beat Pac in 2015. He has been getting all the props whereas Pac has been getting **** with all these ****ty PEDS accusations without any solid evidence. Floyd on the other hand was the one to had taken IV fluids prior to their fight. Was he trying to gain some advantage, maybe. Hide/mask something, no idea cause I dont want to accuse him with anything like blood doping or whatever cause I dont have a solid proof/evidence to back it up. He was even seen with vampire facial in a video but does not mean anything without any reasonable proof. He even made USADA agent wait 5 hours in his house to collect a pee sample from the Mosley fight but it was not a big deal.
I think it is rather difficult for some of us to be a true fan of the sport and look at things objectively.
Pac is a clean athlete until proven otherwise. If there was a very reasonable evidence about him doping/cheating, or have cheated in the past. I would certainly take a step back and not let my favoritism cloudy my sense of reasonable perspective. I rest my case.✌peace outComment

Its a lot easier to pass the test when you know what day they will test. The old school standard PED tests were worthless in boxing.
Floyd proposed something non standard and Alex didnt have time to work out how to beat that test, they would need something undetectable the duration of training camp vs just fight night.Comment

I like friendly and respectful arguments and I dont really need to resort to name calling lol. Lets go back to the issue. Floyd and his team had clearly stated he had taken IV saline with multivitamins and vitamin C infusion at home cause he was dehydrated. First and foremost, he could’ve just drank a bottle or two of pedialyte or even gatorade if he was not severely dry/dehydrated. Plain IV saline bolus/es is another option and it should be done in a medical/hospital setting.I'm not understanding why you are harping on the vitamins so much. The paramedic obviously gave him the vitamins either for his specific condition or just because the vitamins obviously have benefits for well-being. You can go to any IV clinic and get an IV with multivitamins. You don't have to be vitamin deficient to have vitamins added in the IV fluid.
And obviously vitamin C is not a banned substance.
The part I did not understand was the need to use IV Multivitamins and Vitamin C that was given along with the saline prior to pac fight cause there was no clear indication (Floyd never disclosed if he was deficient) as to why plus the timing was off as well. Multivitamins and vitamin C may not he banned up until this day but it could mask other agents if given intravenously or it could be used to gain some advantage for the fight who knows.Last edited by tatot; 01-22-2019, 04:30 AM.Comment

That was during the first negotiation. How about months later in 2010?? When floyd was nowhere to be found?? Didn’t fight for more than a year. Can’t be summoned by hbo to renegotiate when he knew pac was already willing to do his requirements.
Like I said what kind of scared fighter sends his manager to his opponents camp.
What initiative has floyd ever done for the fight to happen during those years that’s even close to that???
Why wasn’t he okay working with arum but was totally fine with it when pac looked like shytte already??Comment

yes, give and take!! floyd demanded something that he has never done before and asked for random blood test.
so manny demanded something that he has never done before and asked for a cut off.
if you asks me, that's a fair trade!!!
this is called negotiation. it's not called what floyd wants floyd gets.Comment

Don't worry, bro. I haven't resorted to any name calling and I don't plan to. I think we can keep it respectful.I like friendly and respectful arguments and I dont really need to resort to name calling lol. Lets go back to the issue. What I'm trying to say is that the multi-vitamins/vitamin C doesn't have to specifically be to treat dehydration. They could just be to help with recovery, the same way they are given at any IV clinic. Look up any online website for IV clinics that give IV fluid for dehydration, fatigue, etc. They usually at least have the option of adding multi-vitamins and vitamin C. It's really not a big deal.
And you are wrong. The vitamins are not going to mask anything at a WADA laboratory. An IV masks by dilution. As per WADA's rules, not only does the DCO have to check the urine sample for dilution, but the independent WADA lab also checks the sample for dilution. The information is then entered into a database online and an automatic redflag is sent off to WADA and other ADO's in case a diluted sample is entered in. There is really no big deal about vitamins being used here.
It's up to his medical team to decide the appropriate cause of action. We don't know if his dehydration was caused by something else. My theory is that he was suffering from rhabdomyolysis, but we can't know for sure unless we have his medical records. All we know is that a TUE committee of anti-doping doctors received a full report on his condition, without having his name on it or any other way to identify who the TUE application was from, and it was approved.Comment

I'm not really sure what you're talking about. Yes, the first negotiation was at the end of 2009 and beginning of 2010. When it broke down, how was Mayweather gone into hiding? There wasn't going to be a fight....negotiations already broke down.
I've never stated that Pacquiao was scared. He may have been scared of taking the test, but I don't know about that for sure and I haven't accused him of that. To me, the only person who seemed clearly scared about this fight taking place was Bob Arum.
And you can also say, what type of fighter who signs a contract for a 50/50 split and offers a 14 day cut-off for his concerned opponent regarding drug testing is scared? Certainly seems Mayweather was willing to step up.
He tried to make the fight during the initial negotiation, and even Freddie Roach admits that the fight didn't happen due to Pac's team's fault. There was never another real negotiation until Mayweather finally talked to Pac at that basketball game, and then lo and behold, the fight was made.
Mayweather was damn near begging pac to accept the fight before he went to prison....Arum stated that Pacquiao himself turned it down to fight Marquez a 4th time and said the Mayweather fight will always be there.
That's when Pac was knocked unconscious. I don't think you can blame Mayweather for that since he was pushing Pac to fight him instead of Marquez.Comment
Stop these old recycled PED threads already. Suck this to cool you down bro.
