  • Comments Thread For: Manny Pacquiao - Is This the One?

By Cliff Rold - Not many fighters are still considered viable contenders in any weight class twenty years after they win their first title. Even in this era, when it feels like big names are able to stretch their time near the top farther than was once the norm, twenty years is a long time. Heading into this weekend (Saturday, Showtime PPV, 9 PM EST), 40-year old Manny Pacquiao remains rated in the top five at welterweight by TBRB, Ring, ESPN, and Boxing Monthly, a healthy sampling of the perception of the division as a whole...

Broner already set himself up for a robbery going into Saturday’s fight. His mouth & language makes him the real loser. Even if he fights the perfect fight he’ll need to stop Manny.

Packy may be still rated at 40 but who has he fought over the last few years to maintain his rating? It's more of a respect rating rather than one being based on results.

Pacquiao will not come unstuck against Broner, unless AB delivers a performance of which we have never yet seen in his career to date.

His performance against a dangerous Mathysse is why he's still relevant... And we all know he beat Horn...

Aint no way AB is going to win... I already see him imitating Floyd in how He got the W over Pac but he ain't Floyd...

Broners best career win was against featherfisted Maliggnaggi. He got thoroughly beat by Maidana, outpunched by Porter(ex sparring partner for Pac) and laugh at by Garcia and had a debatable draw against Jesse Vargas, a glorified B fighter.?! AB will be outclassed, as simple as that

Pac didn't lose to Horn we know that, Broner has his work cut out for him

Broner is basically a cherry pick for Pacquiao. Pac beats up a guy people love to hate and Pac gets some hype built up and get people interested in a rematch with Floyd. Unless Broner shows up on his A game he's set up to lose not to mention that rant against Al Berstein didn't do him any favors either lol

Even though broner stunned porter dont think he has the power to stop manny, and wont outwork him. Should be an easy win for pac.
