It was a complete gimme fight. And Ortiz isn't fighting anyone worth anything.
Oh I’m not saying that Ortiz is fighting a world beater. I’m not one of those guys, I’m just saying Hammer isn’t a journeyman like Khan vs LoGrecko or whatever the **** his name was

I've seen hammer fight a few times, he's pretty average. Even though he KOd David Price, which was quite embarrassing, I think this guy is like lower european level at best.

Guys like Joe Joyce should look at him imo. not luis ortiz

I’ll use the same argument I’m using for Terrance Crawford right now then; how many guys in the top 15 are available right now? (Not a rhetorical question. I know that everyone at WW in the top 15 have fights in the next 3 months. Not sure about HW. Top 4 are all “tentatively” locked up.

Ortiz and Whyte should be happening. Most places have them interchangeable at 4/5.

And price is used to the embarrassment, unfortunately.

At least Ortiz is being kept active. All we can ask for until he gets another notable opponent.

As far as I know, let's assume Fury vs Wilder is happening and AJ won't happen:

            - Miller
            - Whyte
            - Breazele
            - Kownacki
            - Washington
            - Martin
            - Povetkin
            - Miller
            - Pulev
            - Parker
            - Rivas

All of these guys to my knowledge don't have fights lined up, and would all be significantly better in all ways than Christian Hammer.

              What do you mean 'another'?

He's not had a notable opponent since 2015, and even that was barely noteworthy.

Huh? He fought Wilder just last year. How is that "barely noteworthy" opponent?

Wilder is not an 'opponent', he's a champion.

Ortiz did nothing to deserve a shot in the first place, and hasn't done anything since and that seems to be continuing.

Guess it's a stay busy from his other stay busy fights.

Wilder was still Ortiz's opponent that day. So yes, he has fought someone who was more than just barely noteworthy since 2015.

Kownacki and Washington are both fighting each other, ironically this Saturday. I've been looking forward to it

Pulev is fighting Helinus. Breazeale just fought last month. Rivas fought last weekend.

You put Miller on your list twice. I know that was just a mistake but I'm still gonna give you a hard time about it...making your list look all longer and **** Plus, Miller just signed up for that ****** WBA tournament that shouldn't be happening.

So that leaves Whyte, Martin, Povetkin, and Parker.

Martin and Povetkin are both coming off losses and likely to take softer touches (though I would love to see Povetkin vs Ortiz) Parker is on the comeback trail, and the Whyte garbage happened last month. I'd love to see him fight Whyte or Parker also, unfortunately you can't force guys to fight you. I got excited when Joyce called him out a few weeks ago, but then I woke up yesterday to read that Joe Joyce is fighting Bermaine Stiverne (WTF?)
