    One Step Away!
IBRAGIMOV-AUSTIN FIGHT FOR IBF #1 SPOT ON JULY 28
    July 7, 2006

It’s the goal of all professional prizefighters – to be called ‘Champion’. And to get to that level, it takes years of blood, sweat, and tears, and a commitment to excellence that few can even fathom.

Sultan Ibragimov and Ray Austin have paid these dues, and when a winner is declared in their IBF Heavyweight Title Elimination Bout at the Seminole Hard Rock Live Arena in Hollywood, Florida on Friday, July 28, that victor will be just one win away from the title of World Champion.

    Those are high stakes.

Ibragimov-Austin, part of a hard-hitting night of boxing presented by Warrior Boxing Promotions, Golden Grain Promotions and Sampson Lewkowicz, will be televised live on ESPN2’s Friday Night Fights beginning at 9pm ET / 6pm PT.

A world-class under card will be announced at a later date.

One of the division’s brightest rising stars, Sultan Ibragimov (19-0, 16 KOs) is a 2000 Olympic Silver medalist who is mimicking that success in the pro ranks. Fresh from a seventh round annihilation of Lance Whitaker last December, the aggressive power-puncher from Russia is looking forward to facing fellow Eastern European Wladimir Klitschko for the IBF title if he can get by Austin on July 28th.

A Cleveland native known as ‘The Rainman’, Ray Austin (24-3-3, 16 KOs) has not lost a fight since 2001, a streak encompassing 12 fights, including four knockout wins. Owner of wins over Cisse Salif and Owen Beck, Austin is coming off an emphatic second round stoppage of Jeremy Bates in April.

Tickets for Ibragimov-Austin, priced at $25, $50, $100, and $150, are available by calling 954.523.3309 or by visiting www.ticketmaster.com.

aside from brewster, igbraminov is the lone person in the division i can envision beating wlad.

i think he has every bit the hand speed of sanders and not as much but more than enough power to get the job done.

of course he is a lefty, which i assume most everyone already knows

On a side note, I'd like to say that Timur Ibragimov may be the worst fighter I've ever seen in my entire life. I doubt his bro is much better.

if you havent seen sultan you will be surprised, especially if youre expecting a performance anything like timors.
