Bro - who is more likely to be a hype job - the guy from the US who grinds out unimpressive decisions at home, and is known to be a dirty fighter yet gets away with it because he fights at home.

Or the guy who comes from 'literally where', doesn't speak English, and has no real angle other than his supreme boxing abilities and his KO record. Just think man lol. It's not that hard. For some reason your self-worth is so tied up in GGG and Ward that you can't see clearly what is right in front of you.

If you want to hate on GGG because he is white that's fine, just don't root for him. But when you hype up Ward who is literally an impressive boxing hype job and instead choose to deride an objectively great fighter, you lose all credibility and no one takes you seriously.

Pick whoever you want to root for, but give credit where it is due. If GGG and his greatness bothers you so much just move on to someone else. There are a lot of great black boxers out there. Ward just wasn't one of them. He was a great tough smart fighter but boxing-wise he was very fortunate to be the home-town boy. It's obvious.

You said "great" and "tought." Is Ward's accomplishments the same reason why judges might have favored SRL's constant running against Hagler or style? If Amir Khan had a chin, would people questions is constant lateral movement?

Andre Ward's peekaboo charge is his own unique strategy. Ward was able to rush guys to the inside, the different with Tyson is that Iron Mike would whale haymakers doing so most of the time. Then Ward haters would just consolidate all the traits they hate about him and label it "dirty" with the same sentence as "holding."

With Wlad, they called "holding" boring, not "dirty."

I hate these type of cop out accusations whenever a boxing purist has an opinion.

Pacquiao was highly criticized too. Never heard constant things likes "you just hate Pac because he's Filipino."

I'm wondering, if Pacquiao had a caucasian father from Norway, would these GGG protectors apply that too?

In fact, did this forum, before GGG, did the same type of fans defend Wlad to say, "you just hate him because he's white?"

I think Ward was a tough smart fighter. He mixed it up for 12 rounds with some really rough-house tactics with many opponents. I give him credit for his toughness and smarts in the ring.

SRL won clear as day against Hagler. Hagler, as he showed against Duran and twice against Willie Monroe, had an issue with boxing his way in. He would come in and take one to get inside and give you a few shots. He was tough as nails so anyone who tried to go to war with him lost. But favoring SRL for clearly outboxing Hagler is not the same as favoring a home fighter and giving them any round you can, and is not the same lauding a guy who continually breaks the rules in a fight. I personally like some dirty boxing, the issue with Ward is that he does nothing else exceptional besides the dirty fighting. If a neutral ref in a neutral site reffed his fights he would never get away with the elbows/headbutts and low blows which he has done almost every time he gets into a big close fight.

The sport is hit and not get hit. I don't care what a guy does outside of that, as long as it's clean. And unfortunately for Ward he doesn't do anything exceptional besides the dirty tactics of boxing. Wlad at least had his jab right hand hold combo. I am not a fan of that style but at least he brought some legit skill to the table as a boxer. And discerning who initiates the holding can be a little more difficult than a guy throwing headbutts or elbows.

I do feel the rules of boxing are meant to be broken occasionally. A rabbit punch could be unintended, same with a low blow. But when you make a habit of boxing dirty, and even in doing so you are not clearly winning rounds, then yes I will take issue and even offense with people hyping someone up as an ATG.

I don't think most people who hype Ward up have watched more than a few of his fights.

Wow - calling these people who hate on GGG boxing purists is rich lol. And insinuating that you yourself are a 'boxing purist' is a little ridiculous as well. You are so humble sir lol.

Clearly you are new here or are at least new to reading the posts of people who hate on GGG? It only takes an IQ over 80 to realize that almost all of the ridiculous comments taking shots at GGG have everything to do with what he looks like and nothing to do with how he boxes.

Regarding the part about Pac's father - that doesn't really make sense. You may want to try re-wording that.

Anyone who spends 5 minutes reading the posts of people on here regarding their over the top hate of GGG realize it is almost purely race based and if GGG was black or Mexican they would revere him as the greatest thing ever.

Btw - what are your thoughts on GGG?

Brook is craft enough to have moved around the ring as SRL did against GGG, but he chose not to. When Canelo decided to do what SRL did it was “running.” If you’re saying SRL won “clear as day,” then clearly you’d think about Byrd’s 118-110 score as the other judge who scored 118-110 for Hagler.

Fans don’t want to hear that, and the scene of this days generation never even contextualized SRL’s style agaist Hearn, only a certain few pointed it out from the Mayweather gym, like old coaches. That’s being honest.

GGG fans as well as many reporters didn’t want Canelo to win before the opening bell, so its been fun exaggerating the outcome with cliche reasons to this day.

FACT: Ward fought some killers, and he beat ALL of them

FACT: Golovkin avoided anyone who posed a threat

..... not quite the same thing, is it ?

listen to prophet Ward school Golovkin on what he needs to do with his career.....

                  2.00

Ward PROVED that he is a great fighter, Golovkin passed on the opportunity..... and yet you choose to attack the PROVEN fighter, and ignore the guy who passed on career-defining fights and currently does not have a signature win on his resume

that makes YOU a hypejob, as well as Golovkin

                  let me prove that statement.....

your current whine, about Ward being a hometown favorite.....

..... name one Ward fight where the result was affected by hometown judging..... name just one?

There you go again. There’s nothing new with people claiming “you hate GGG because he’s white.”

You should’ve agreed with me that it’s not that. If someone “hates” GGG you could at least man up and give other reasons aside from the race card. I mean, let’s not give up and cry race cards when it’s not always that tribalistiic reason.

It's not about fighting a similar style. It's about hit and not get hit - Leonard clearly won more rounds against Hagler. GGG clearly won more rounds than Canelo in the two fights. Second was more competitive but when you look at punch stats, that says it all my friend. It's about punches landed, everything else you said is irrelevant.
