  • Comments Thread For: Terence Crawford vs. Amir Khan Isn't Ideal But It's Fun

By Michael Rosenthal - Of course, Terence Crawford will be a heavy favorite when he defends his welterweight title against Amir Khan on April 20 on pay-per-view television. Crawford is either No. 1 or 2 on most pound-for-pound lists while Khan has become infamously inactive, fighting only four times during the past four-plus years. The Briton fought twice in 2018, his first multiple-fight year since 2014. Crawford is a complete fighter, quick, skillful, powerful and durable. Khan also is quick and a good boxer but is known as much for his weak chin as any attribute...

Good article imo, obviously there are fights I'd rather see Crawford in but in terms of what's actually available right now this isn't bad.

It’s weird how Khan gets slated but the author actually suggests that there’s a comparaison to be made in skill level and rates khans defensive skills.
I can only assume he was feeling bad for the guy coz Crawford is way more skilful and khans defensa is rubbish hence the knockouts (it’s not his chin so much as his remarkable ability to get hit clean on it that causes him problems)

Yeah he has zero defence at all. His defence is basically getting to his opponents first with 6 combo of punches. But if you are fighting someone intelligent then they would work you out. It looks nice when he is throwing those combos and landing them but the issue is always when they time him perfectly. He never sees those punches coming.

That's the thing with Khan and never learning from his mistakes

His best performance far and away was against kotelnik just keeping it tight jab and 1-2's not getting involved

Khan will outbox and put on a good display in the early rounds until Crawford times and knocks him out in the mid or late rounds.

                  I'm going to be watching.

I've liked Khan despite all the fuckery.

Could be a decent keep busy fight for Bud, but not for PPV. Comon Bob, you’ve gotta do better than this for my money
