Terrence Crawford's last attempt at PPV drew something like 50k PPV buys. Crawford isn't selling premium priced tickets in Omaha, nevermind trying to sell aggressively priced tickets in New York; the gate maybe gets to $2m sold. The UK interest in a Crawford-Khan fight is nowhere near where you think it is, especially at 3am, and that's before you even get to talking about the PPV.
$5m for Khan, $5m for Crawford, $1m for a **** undercard, plus the cost of actually putting the event on, Top Rank is likely in the hole $13m-$14m before counting a single dollar come in.
$2m on the live gate, $2m from the UK/International TV, and you'd still have $10m to cover. @$65/$75, that's over 300k homes needing to buy the event to cover, lol.
A heavyweight title fight, between at worst two of the top three heavyweights, with Showtime/CBS making the aggressive push to market the event, drew over 325k PPV buys.
How many do you ****ing think Crawford-Khan is going to draw, when Crawford's last shot at PPV did 50k, the last time most folks saw Amir khan he was being left for dead by Canelo, and Bob Arum isn't going into the pocket any extra on a fight that will lose money?
