Comments Thread For: Spence's Trainer: Garcia 'Probably The Best,' Most 'Technical' Foe

The trainer of left-handed IBF welterweight champion Errol Spence calls four-division titlist Mikey Garcia "probably the best" fighter "The Truth" will face in chasing his fourth defense and 12th straight stoppage victory on March 16 at The Dallas Cowboys' AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on Fox Pay Per View. Making his 147-pound debut in pursuit of a fifth crown in as many divisions, the 31-year-old Garcia (39-0, 30 KOs) "is better" in some areas than former champions Chris Algieri, Lamont Peterson and Kell Brook, whom the 28-year-old Spence (24-0, 21 KOs) stopped in the fifth, seventh and 11th rounds.

They really fluffing Mikey up since this fight became official. People pretending Lipinets didn't put blood on Mikey face. It's easy to discredit Brook in hindsight but Brook had a better chance then Mikey. I've seen nothing from Mikey that shows me he's a better fighter than Brook or he'll do better than him. Mikey aint beat nor fought nobody as good as Shawn Porter. Kell Brook has! Mikey is just a more accomplished fighter. Nicca said it out his own mouth he didn't even feel like a champion for so long (cause he knew he was in weak divisions), that's why he want Errol among other things.

Best in a technical sense? Absolutely

        Most difficult? No

It'll be interesting until the jabs and body shots take their toll around 4 or 5.

        He's just too big.

All things being equal Mikey is a much slicker and fluid fighter with much more accuracy and timing. Errol the robot Spence has size as his only advantage in this fight and I think it will be the deciding factor.

Mikey's ego got the better of him here and this fight doesnt make sense unless it's a cash out fight for Mikey and it was his best quick cash option at the moment.

Thurman embarrasses Spence. Danny Garcia Kos him. Porter 50/50. Charlos are bums. Ggg Kos Spence. Canelo embarrasses him. Lara embarrasses him. Hurd Kos him. Saunders gets kod. Andrade 50/50.

I don’t want to hear this rubbish about Mikey is technically great he is a midget and he had no business calling you out in the first place. You must make an example out of him in order to ensure something like this doesn’t happen again in the future. Nothing less than a knockout before the 9th will suffice or I might be forced to jump ship and join Team Crawford

Spence only takes fights where he sees a mismatch. I.e. Ocampo! After taking that fight I lost all respect for the hype job! Well.. What little I might have had. Errial sees another mismatch in Garcia or this fight wouldn't be happening. Keep listening to your trainer Errial. Looking forward to see that same look in your face that fell over Easter's at about the end of round one.

Spence thinking that he gets credit for fighting a dude 3 divisions smaller than him.

Pathetic. Spence struggled with Brook until the eye started tweaking again!

Spence biggest advantage is that he comes in weighing 20 pounds bigger than the competition. His technical skills are nothing special, he is just a basic fighter that squeezes to make 147.

Crawford and Thurman will expose him, just wait his time is coming.

                  Lol

Who has Danny Garcia ever Put to sleep of any note. Slowest feet in the game. Closes his eyes when he punches and slow hands. An easy match up for any top welterweight. Danny Garcia?? Mikey beats him even

Mikey can survive in this fight as long as his body can sustain those punishing shots from Spence.

I doubt if Mikey can hurt Spence. He is simply too big. I will give Mikey enough credit if he makes it to the final bell.
