Good post - All the legal squwables with Top Rank really set him back in the potential legacy department. If he beats Spence, and that is a HUGE if, he still has a lot of catching up to do if he expects a bronze plaque in Canastota. I'm rooting for the kid, but we all know he's really up against it come March.Best of what generation? You have to beat some hall of famers, like 3 or more over a span of 10 years or so to be considered the best in a generation. As much as I joke about Oscar, from 1996-2006, he was in some great fights. Mayweather from 2001-2015, Leonard from 1979-1988, BHOP 1997-2014, Roy Jones 1994-2003, Ali from 1964-1978, Chavez Sr 1984-1998. Who has Mikey beat over the past 10 years that are knocking on the Hall of Fame door, Salido, Lipinets, Lopez, Easter, Broner? Even if he beats Spence, how will Spence close out his career after. No guarantee he gets in the Hall of Fame but Mikey will with a win against him. He needs some more mega fights to be considered the best of his generation, not just Spence.Comment

There's nothing out there that really puts Mikey in the HOF department post Spence. He's already 31 spent most of his prime years squabbling with his promoter just like Ward did. His older bro retired at 33-34 so genetically I'd imagine that's when he'd be just about done.Good post - All the legal squwables with Top Rank really set him back in the potential legacy department. After Spence his best options are pretty much Pacquiao, Broner 2, Crawford, Loma and LinaresComment

I’m with you and rooting for Mikey. I like Spence but Mikey beating him is a better story for me. My main concern is if Mikey’s body can hold up to the body shots of Spence because I believe he can avoid the head shots and out box Spence. Spence has a pattern of breaking down his opponents over the course of a fight to the body and then stopping them aka Vargas, Algieri, Brook, & Peterson. But I see that Mikey has been adding on muscle. I believe it’s for power but also to make the midsection and the surrounding areas stronger. And I remember hearing Tyson & Foreman both saying once that they would hit people on the arms and shoulders and everywhere else they could hit them to break them down. I believe Mikey added muscle to withstand all the shots that Spence will throw. Because Spence believes he can make Mikey submit under his attack because he is the smaller man.Good post - All the legal squwables with Top Rank really set him back in the potential legacy department. He was coming off a tko loss, injury.
Usually on nsb, it does not make a win supra legit.
Spence s hype living off this win and a bunch of 140 pounders.Comment
