    No they were not the same level. Wilder is 100 times better. Wilder is the WBC world heavyweight champion and Butterbean was the king of the 4 rounders. Wilder would KO him in the 1st round. Larry Holmes easily won every round from Butterbean when Holmes was 52 years old. Butterbean never beat a good heavyweight in his prime. His record is filled with boxrec 1 or 2 star fighters instead of 4 or 5 star fighters and even some of them beat him. I know Wilder lacks boxing skill but he is still a world champion and vastly superior to Butterbean..
