Spence can give it to half shot 140 pounders and brittle headed Kell brook coming off a stoppage but I dunno if he's that much of puncher at 154 elite level.

Spence Ain t no Tommy hearns.

Hurd would bully Spence. Lara was as strong as Spence, Lara's bigger and more skilled than Spence too and he got beat.

As seen on the Brook fight, Spence is dominant because of his size, and not his skill. I will take Hurd, who is also big for his division.

It's easier to move up in weight when you are a midget because the differences in weight classes are not massIve at lower weight classes. Take from 130 to 140 that's 2 weight classes but from 160 you jump to 168. Not too many guys can do that because height seriously becomes an issue. Look at Canelo right now, at 168 he has to be very selective and also why GGG didnt really wann go there because guys at the weight are heavyweights on fight night. Canelo is one heavy guy but fighting 6' something skilled guys won't work just like it won't with Groves.

I hear Spence does well in sparring against the likes of Charlo brothers and other big guys. His power is said to be real but most people talk more about his boxing skills. Apparently he isn't as easy to hit but generally he hasn't needed to get into that mode yet in real fights as he hasn't been challenged. His first body shot normally does the job but like you gave an example of Lara it would be tough for Spence against Hurd. I think Spence will be at 147 lbs for a little bit but he fances his chances against Canelo so who knows what will happen?

We have been hearing that for GGG, doing versus gassiev ect... and that criteria was mocked.

As far as I know charlo could not hurt, beat clearly a guy Hurd mopped the floor with in Harrison.

Hurd stopped trout too, Charlos didn't, barely lost.

So still going with facts, Hurd seems a level above at least mell charlo.

Hurd weighed 168 on fight night against Lara. That's big but not huge. Spence weighed 156 on fight night his last fight so Hurd is about 12 pounds heavier on fight night. I think Spence still beats Hurd because he has a much better defense and is more accurate with his punches. Hurd is a heavy puncher but I think Spence has equal punching power and Spence is a great body puncher. I think Spence can beat Hurd and maybe knock him out. MAN DOWN!

What are you talking about? Spence weight 156 on fight night his last fight while Brook kills himself to make 147 and is probably about 165 on fight night. Hurd may be tall be he was 168 on fight night for Lara which is about average for 154 pound boxers. It's what Trout and Jermell weighed on fight night when they fought each other. I always write down the announced fight night weights if they give them rather than make wild and usually wrong guesses. I had to guess Brook's fight night weight for Spence because no fight night weights were given but Brook is a known very large welterweight who now fights at 154.

Broner moved up 17 pounds, from 130 to 147, so it would lead Spence to 164 wich proportionally is not bad as a comparison.

It just that Spence main asset is his physicallity: reach and speed, he used it as an advantage, his skills, speed and ring iq aren't great imo.

He would not do better than Broner moving up as much, I stand by my point unless he build himself into some sort of Pernell withtaker master boxer.

Spence got outclassed by euros in ams big comp, looked dumb in there.Pernell was an outstanding amateur for a reason, Spence's boxing has limits imo

                  Sure he's a beast at 147.

Hurd would brutalize him, Spence would do well early establishing his stiff jab and looking to work the body but once Hurd gets in his “Zombie Herd” mode, he’s gonna walk down and beat up Spence!

You cannot tell me that Spence is as quick as Lara or has more boxing ability than Austin Trout?

Spence is tailor made for Hurd, I’d picked a 10th round stoppage for Hurd either by Derrick James throwing the towel or the ref saves Errol from getting serious brain damage!

Y’all who picking Spence are some damn fools!

I keep telling everyone Hurd's fight night weight was announced as 168 the same as Lara when he fought Lara. If he weighed in at 154 and was a heavyweight on fight night that would be a weight gain of 46 pounds in 32 hours. Rather impossible don't you think?
