Well first of all he's not smarter than me, I'm a programmer ;-) secondly he just sold his career for what I'm guessing is a mediocre payday since Spence had zero star power.

He could have fought Linares and then topped that off with Loma and been undisputed p4p in the world. No instead he will now because known as that arrogant little guy that got tumbled by half good Spence.

So much for being a free agent. What good is that if you'll only fight with haymon! Might as well have gotten a sign on bonus with haymon..

But initially the Linares fight was 2 fight contact but dlh redacted that.

I really think he’s bitten more than he could chew signing up to fight Spence. I like Mikey and hopefully he can still bounce back after Spence and fight Linares at 140 or even Loma at 135 and heck, Pacquiao at 147 if he beats Broner this month.

They know how to take a fighter’s career and develop it at a pace to secure a title fight, move them up the ranks, that kind of stuff. This makes me very hopeful for Mikey vs Loma. I thought Mikey would basically hold a grudge and never fight another Top Rank fighter again, but between this and his brother saying good things about the negotiations/discussions, it makes me very hopeful.

With that said, hopefully Spence doesn't destroy him too badly. That size difference is going to be too much.

I also hope Mikey doesn't gain too much weight trying to bulk up for Spence. Would suck if he couldn't make 135 anymore.

I’m excited for the @mikeygarcia Spence fight. I’m proud that Mikey is daring to be great and fighting at welterweight without knowing what it’s like but without a promoter nobody is taking care of his best interest and Spence is being positioned to become a star by his promoter.
