    All female boxing card

Lou Dibella has always supported female boxing. Everyone has to understand, female boxing doesn’t have the Ali, Mike Tyson or Oscar De La Hoya type character yet. Female boxing is in the beggining stages...... I think things will turn around in 2019. A lot of BIG fights will be happening. Be patient.

Or maybe he's the boxing equivalent of Harvey Weinstein. lol @ "Star-Studded All-Female Card" tho.
I've been lowkey wondering this myself with all his girl hype sh^t that few are feeling outside of the promoters pushing said girls.

Although I believe I've heard DiBella is gay or he certainly has a lil gay flare vibe I feel like I'm seeing in him at times so he might got a "Tevin Farmer says DiBella sexually assaulted him" claim in his future more than Heather Hardy need to push away his hands.

I do think there is a cheapness to putting on high level females that someone mentioned doe. Thats likely a good part of why certain girls are being pushed cuz it has a low risk high reward angle if they do catch fire I suppose. So its more guys trying to sell & hype whats on their shelf than they really feel like there is some movement happening in girl boxing

They got names. Christy Martin was on the cover of SI back in the day. Laila Ali had a f#cking PPV fight ffs. The problem with girl boxing isn't they don't have a girl Tyson. They got no depth. Like at all.

Shields won her first belt in a division with 20 something girls. Of which ~11 iirc had winning records. There is NO depth in girl boxing above around 130lbs & even then girl divisions with depth got depth like the lower weight classes on the mens side where guys regularly win titles in 10ish fights cuz there isn't enough fighters that small. There's not a sustainable stream of fights to make in girl boxing. Even in MMA there are slim pickens for girls & thats why the UFC doesn't even have a legit roster for their 145lb division & only really deals with girls from 115 to 135.

No depth is right, according to boxrec, the number of active female fighters is:
          HW - 19
          SMW - 20
          MW - 29
          SWW - 39
          WW - 54
          SLW - 102
          LW - 119
          SFW - 110
          FW - 136
          SBW - 115
          BW - 146
          SFlyW - 111
          FlyW - 184
          LFlyW - 150
          MinW - 128

...and a good number of those are 'one-and-done'-ers

Well, the sad state of women's stable of boxing talent just means it needs to be supported by all of us so that many more young girls begin to enter the sport. With time, women's boxing, like women's tennis, will grow as a viable and exciting sport. Young boys have been mentored into boxing for over a hundred years so of course the depth of available raw talent today far exceeds what's available in the women's world.

I tell you, if every women's fight had the intensity of the Nunes-Cyborg fight, there'd never again be a shortage of fans for "girl's" boxing.

I agree about the dept part of it but you have to remember.... female boxing just started in the Olympic games. So, I feel that it will take 2/3 more games to develop a solid base of talent. Right now there is only a handful of talented female fighters.. but I think it will change in the next 2/3 years for sure.

I don't disagree it COULD change if the right things happen most notably of which that females start supporting female sports more.

The reality is guys don't generally dig watching females compete in unsexy sports (thinking tennis, gymnastics & an argument for the UFC's promotion of cute girls over talented girls in MMA) & women generally don't waste much TV viewing time on sports let alone girl sports specifically. Female sports that don't have some sexy involved are a hard sell for that reason & girls hitting each other in the head isn't sexy.

For sure if there is change doe it'll take longer than 2-3yrs doe. There is so lil depth in girl boxing it'd take a generation or two to alter its current path.
