I would give him alot of credit for beating Crawford. People like to rip on Khan but he has never lost at welterweight. He is a better fighter than broner, maidana, judah, paulie, Alexander and alot of other fighters.
Not on my list. One good fight would not make my forget how bad he has looked so many times including his last fight. I would drop Crawford from my list for losing to Khan. Khan would have to back up a Crawford win by beating someone like Porter or Thurman. Then I would put him in my top 10 pfp best list. But Crawford will knock him out so I don't have to worry about it.
I've never understood why some people are so high on Khan. I mean he is a talented world class fighter. You can't take that from him, but he's never been & never will be the #1 guy in a division (granted there is an argument he was #1 at 140, but personnally I saw him & Tim as 1a & 1b more than either the clear & proven #1 guy).
All Khan is really great at is speed & idk that anyone has really been top dog with the primary attribute of speed. Along with the fact his negatives are huge with him lacking focus in fights & his punch resistance being a potential game changer in fights with non-world class opponents I just don't see him as a threat vs top 3 guys very often.
I see Khan getting off to a great start, maybe 3/4 rounds with a lead and people saying that Khan is looking great, then Crawford will start breaking through and the wheels will fall off Khan. Khan never reacts well in a crises. that's his biggest problem, when he's buzzed he'll start fighting like a street brawler after 15 pints. Still I would be fine with the fight being made. Will be good entertainment.
